ESPN and Esports

I mentioned in class that ESPN is going to begin airing esports on their networks. In addition to that coverage, they have added an entire section to their website that writes about, analyzes and previews esports events. They have it right beside the other major sports like the NBA and NFL, treating as a real sports like its fans do, not looking down on it.

  1. I find this interesting how ESPN is integrating Esports onto its website, although when I went onto ESPN’s website I noticed that it was tucked away in the “…” category beside the major sports associations like NBA, NFL with sports like Golf, Tennis and Cricket. I’m guessing it may just take some time for Esports to get a fan base in America. Who knows, maybe drone racing will be ESPN’s next addition!
